have honest conversations with their partners about their health and make informed decisions about their sexuality and sexual experiences.

Take charge of their mental health. Mental health illnesses are conditions that involve changes in emotion, thinking and/or behavior.

Impulse Group Orlando is a non-profit organization started in 2015 to curve the growing number of new HIV infections. Our Mission is to spark a real conversation about HIV/AIDS, sexual health, mental health, substance abuse, social justice awareness, and any other issues that impact the local LGBTQ+ community.

Our organization is dedicated to providing engaging events, thought-provoking campaigns, and breaking social barriers to promote awareness and education within the local queer community.

Sexual Health

We empower people to have honest conversations with their partners about their health and to make informed decisions about their sexuality and sexual experiences.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites that are passed through bodily fluids or skin contact. Some STIs are curable, most are treatable, and ALL are manageable.

Condoms are highly effective in preventing HIV and STIs.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) which can cause death.

There are preventive methods such as PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis), a once-a-day pill taken to avoid contracting HIV; and PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), which can prevent HIV if taken within 72 hours after potential exposure.

There is currently no effective cure for HIV/AIDS, but treatment will lead to a healthy life. People living with HIV who keep an undetectable viral load, have NO risk of transmitting HIV through sex. Undetectable = Untransmittable

Mental Health

We empower people to take charge of their mental health.

Mental health illnesses are conditions that involve changes in emotion, thinking and/or behavior. They can be associated with or triggered by distress, stress, problems functioning in social, work or family activities, and more.

There are effective strategies and treatments for preventing and managing mental disorders. Mental illness is a medical problem and it is treatable.

We believe in promoting and maintaining good mental health practices by linking those seeking help with the proper resources.

1. Facilities

2. Therapists

3. Peer Support Groups

Mental health matters. Be kind to yourself. Talk about it. Seek Help.

Substance Abuse

We empower people to make educated and wise decisions about drug use.
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites that are passed through bodily fluids or skin contact. Some STIs are curable, most are treatable, and ALL are manageable. Substance abuse may lead to relationships, social, physical, emotional, legal, and job-related problems.

Substance abuse refers to taking drugs illegally, outside of their intended uses, and/or in excessive quantities.

Addiction is the condition in which an individual is unable to control or moderate their drug use over long periods.

Overdose (OD) is the ingestion of a drug in quantities much greater than recommended that may result in a toxic state or death.

There are many treatment options including rehabilitation outpatient and inpatient programs, psychotherapy, and self-help/support groups. The first step is to acknowledge that there is a problem. The next step is to get help.

Social Justice Awareness

We empower and bring awareness to social justice issues impacting marginalized communities.

Social justice promotes fairness and equity across many aspects of society. Our society is currently experiencing many social justice issues including racism, police brutality, food insecurities, poverty, economic inequality, climate change, war, social equity, education, access to healthcare, immigration, voting rights, women's rights, and LGBTQ+ rights.

We work closely with our community to ensure that our most vulnerable members have a seat at the table and have their voices heard through rallies, campaigns, and programming.
